TACOMA, Wash. —

After a man called Seattle station KOMO Wednesday night and said he had killed his wife, officers were hoping to find her alive - perhaps injured.

But the search ended about 6 a.m. Thursday at a Tacoma motel where officers found the body of 42-year-old Sara Barrett. Sheriff's spokesman Ed Troyer said she died of homicidal violence.

Police had chased down the man's car about 2:30 a.m. and arrested him in Gig Harbor as he fought with a crowbar.

Troyer says 41-year-old Tony Barrett is in custody for investigation of murder.

KOMO reports ( http://bit.ly/Z1GYVJ) Barrett called the newsroom and told the assignment desk he wanted it to post on its Facebook page that he killed his wife.
