TACOMA, Wash. —

Police have found a woman's body in a Tacoma motel and her estranged husband is in custody.

Pierce County sheriff's spokesman Ed Troyer says the man called the KOMO newsroom in Seattle Wednesday night and said he had killed his wife.

Tacoma police spotted his car about 2:30 a.m. Thursday and chased it to Gig Harbor where deputies and state troopers forced it to stop with a spike strip. Troyer says the man came out of the car swinging a crowbar. He was subdued by officers and a police dog and had to be treated for dog bites.

Troyer says police looking for the woman found her body about 6 a.m. Thursday at a motel.
