LINCOLN CITY, Ore. —

Police who stormed a motel room in an Oregon seaside town and captured a Washington state man suspected of killing his grandparents say they've sent him to a Portland hospital for treatment of self-inflicted injuries.

Lincoln City Police Chief Keith Kilian says police found Michael Boysen lying on his back on the floor with apparently self-inflicted cuts. They breached the motel room door and went in after a daylong standoff.

The chief says Boysen was driven by ambulance Tuesday evening to meet a Life Flight bound for Legacy Emanuel Medical Center in Portland. There was no immediate word on his condition late Tuesday night.

The bodies of Boysen's grandparents, Robert and Norma Taylor, were found Saturday in their suburban Seattle home, a day after Boysen was released from prison and was greeted with a welcome home party.
