LONGVIEW, Wash. —

A Longview, Wash., man has been sentenced to 14 years for his second-degree murder plea in the throat-slashing death of a 50-year-old transient last September.

The Daily News of Longview reports ( http://is.gd/qCsMDT) that 28-year-old David Allen Holmes used a large, military-style knife to kill Kevin Thomas Watts, who had been living in a van.

Police said a dispute was involved but it was unclear what the men had been arguing about.
