A camel named Hugo is back in his pen at a residence near Yelm after wandering away and having Thurston County deputies looking for him.
The 6-year-old dromedary was found after an hour and led home by his keeper, Sean Sage.
The Olympian reports ( http://bit.ly/15vvJeb) Sage and his wife Stephanie take care of Hugo and another camel named Picasso. The animals are owned by Camels Unlimited, which leases them for appearances or zoo rides.
Sean Sage says Picasso was away on Sunday and Hugo got lonely and went looking for his friend. Hugo escaped his pen, cut through a yard between two fences and walked into some woods.
A neighbor reported seeing a camel on the loose. Sgt. Alvin Griffin said it made for an interesting day.
