Reardan defeats Northwest Christian 67-52

Arizona State-bound Kelsey Moos had 28 points and 15 rebounds as Reardan earned its third straight Class 2B girls state title with a 67-52 win over Northwest Christian on Saturday night.

SPOKANE, Wash. —

Arizona State-bound Kelsey Moos had 28 points and 15 rebounds as Reardan earned its third straight Class 2B girls state title with a 67-52 win over Northwest Christian on Saturday night.

Chantel Heath added 17 points and Charlene Gray 10 for the Indians (28-1). Sophomore Courtney Gray scored 25 points for the Crusaders (23-6), making their first championship appearance.

After trailing most of the first half, Reardan took control in the third quarter. Seven straight points by Moos gave Reardan a 38-27 lead.

Northwest Christian started the fourth quarter with one last push, scoring the first seven points, five by Gray, to close within 46-42 with 5:55 left. Reardan responded with an 11-3 run, capped by Moos' three-point play with 4 minutes left, to pull away for good.

Reardan, with four senior starters, finished 81-4 over the past four seasons. The Indians won all five meetings against Northwest Christian this season.

Moos, a 6-foot senior, overcame two early fouls and finished 10 of 16 from the floor.
