Neah Bay outs LaCrosse-Washtucna/Kahlotus 77-60

Tyler McCaulley hit a tournament-record eight 3-pointers and finished with 29 points, and Neah Bay beat LaCrosse-Washtucna/Kahlotus 77-60 on Friday to advance to the Class 1B boys state title game.

SPOKANE, Wash. —

Tyler McCaulley hit a tournament-record eight 3-pointers and finished with 29 points, and Neah Bay beat LaCrosse-Washtucna/Kahlotus 77-60 on Friday to advance to the Class 1B boys state title game.

Abraham Venske added 21 points and Leyton Doherty 10 for the Red Devils (20-2), who will face Sunnyside Christian. Jed Zimmer had 20 points for the Tigercats (20-6), who will play for third place.

Neah Bay raced ahead 21-6 on back-to-back baskets by Abraham Venske. LaCrosse-Washtucna/Kahlotus closed the first half on a 7-1 run and narrowed the deficit to 35-28.

Neah Bay outscored LaCrosse-Washtucna/Kahlotus 18-10 in the third quarter to pull away. For the game, McCaulley missed just four 3-point attempts.

Darcy Stamper added 16 points and Justin Wargo 10 for LaCrosse-Washtucna/Kahlotus.
