Brittany McPhee overcame fatigue and constant double teams to score 34 points for Mount Rainier on Friday night and it wasn't enough to get past Mead.
Delany Junermier scored 15 points and the Panthers overcame McPhee's huge night and a big second-half comeback by Mount Rainier to win 51-50 and advance to the program's second Class 4A title game in four years.
McPhee nearly stole the show, scoring eight points during a Mount Rainier rally that saw the Rams (26-2) come from 10 points back with 7 minutes remaining to get within a point twice in the final 2:15.
She had one final chance to be the hero in the closing seconds but passed out of a triple team in the corner, giving sister Jordan McPhee the final shot. Jordan McPhee couldn't get a clean look and ended up sending a one-handed heave from 3-point range to the right side of the rim as the buzzer sounded.
Mead (24-1), which led by as many as 14 points early in the second half, will face Arlington in Saturday's title game.
