W.F. West knocks off Renton in Class 2A semis

YAKIMA, Wash. —

Tori Weeks scored a game-high 13 points to lead W.F. West to a 44-25 semifinal victory over Renton on Friday in the Class 2A girls state tournament.

The win sends the Bearcats into Saturday's championship game against either River Ridge or Mark Morris. Jamika Parker added 11 points for the Bearcats (22-4), who took a 25-12 halftime lead and led the entire game.

The Bearcats jumped to their first-half advantage with hot shooting, making 43 percent (9 of 21) of their shots to just 13 percent (4 of 30) for the Indians.

W.F. West also dominated the backboards, pulling down 52 rebounds to Renton's 31. Olivia Erskine led the Bearcats with 13 rebounds and Jamika Parker added eight.
