A man climbed down from a tree Friday morning after a three-hour standoff with Seattle police that blocked railroad tracks and halted seven trains.

KOMO Radio reports (http://bit.ly/15WwJct) the man was placed in handcuffs about 8:30 a.m.

Police said the man is suspected of breaking windows at an ex-girlfriend's house about 5:30 a.m. and injuring a man's leg.

The suspect climbed about 40 feet up a tree next to the tracks in the Magnolia neighborhood near the Ballard railroad bridge. He was taking off clothes and tying them to branches.

While a police negotiator tried to talk the man down, a fire department rescue team was standing by.

Burlington Northern Santa Fe spokesman Gus Melonas (mel-OWN'-us) says the activity delayed four Sound Transit, one Amtrak and two freight trains.
