SEATTLE —

Sound Transit Sounder commuter trains from Everett have been stopped by a man up a tree in Seattle near a bridge in the Ballard area.

Sound Transit says two trains were forced to stop Friday morning and those passengers are being put on buses at Edmonds.

Meanwhile, police and firefighters are trying to deal with the man who climbed about 40 feet up a tree next to the tracks.

KOMO Radio reports the man has been taking off his clothes and tying them to branches.

A fire department technical rescue team is standing by, but the department said the man may be armed.

A police negotiator is trying to talk him into coming down. Police said on the man is suspected of causing some property damage.
