SEATTLE —

The Sound Transit Sounder commuter train from Everett has been delayed by a man up a tree in Seattle near a bridge in the Ballard area.

The train was forced to stop Friday morning while police and firefighters responded to the man who climbed about 40 feet up a tree near the tracks.

KOMO Radio reports firefighters with backboards and ladders are ready to help the man while a police negotiator is trying to talk him into coming down.

The man has been taking off his clothes and tying them to branches.
