TACOMA, Wash. —

A Tacoma fire official says a PetSmart was evacuated Thursday evening after fire broke out inside the store.

Battalion Chief Jolene Davis tells KOMO-TV (http://is.gd/KtrNBa) that fire crews responding to reports of smoke evacuated those in the building, including several animals.

Davis says other animals were located in a well-ventilated area of the store and were not removed.

Firefighters quickly extinguished the fire. There was no immediate word on damage or what caused the fire.

The animals that were removed were taken to another store.
