Austin Summers scored 13 points and Jed Zimmer added 10 points and 10 rebounds as LaCrosse-Washtucna/Kahlotus beat Soap Lake 56-40 on Thursday to advance to the semifinals of the Class 1B boys state tournament.

Alec Fleming had 10 points and four assists for the Tigercats (20-5). Jason Korneychuk had 24 points and 17 rebounds for the Eagles (16-5), who will play in a loser-out game.

After LaCrosse-Washtucna/Kahlotus grabbed an early 20-10 lead, Soap Lake rallied behind Korneychuk, who scored nine straight points to pull the Eagles to within 20-19.

LaCrosse-Wastucna/Kahlotus responded with a 24-9 run keyed by two Fleming 3-pointers to push the lead to 44-28.
