Pahukoa leads Lake Stevens past Kentwood 52-36

TACOMA, Wash. —

Brooke Pahukoa scored 34 points to lead Lake Stevens to a 52-36 victory over Kentwood Thursday in the first round of 4A state girls basketball tournament.

Pahukoa, a 5-foot-9 senior, was the only Viking to score more than six points in the win, setting up a third meeting with Arlington in Friday's semifinal. She made 13 of 24 shots from the field while adding a team-high eight rebounds for Lake Stevens.

The Vikings (20-7) breezed to a 13-point lead after one quarter and led by as many as 19 points on the way to the blowout win.

Sara Toeaina scored a team-high 16 points for the Conquerors (19-8).
