YAKIMA, Wash. —

Olivia Erskine and Julie Spencer each scored eight points to lead W.F. West to a 36-18 quarterfinal victory over Cedarcrest in the Class 2A girls state tournament Thursday.

W.F. West held Cedarcrest to a record for fewest points scored in a game, breaking the mark of 19 set by Elma in 2004. The total of 54 points tied the record for lowest combined score, set in Pullman's 30-24 win over Eatonville in 2004.

Erskine grabbed a game-high 10 rebounds, and Spencer had nine boards.

The Bearcats (21-4) led 18-6 at halftime.

Raegan Nelson had six steals for W.F. West.
