Defending champ Colton eases past Taholah

Jenna Moser and Paige Vincent scored 14 points apiece as four-time defending champion Colton rolled past Taholah 77-15 on Thursday to advance to the semifinals of the Class 1B girls state tournament.

SPOKANE, Wash. —

Jenna Moser and Paige Vincent scored 14 points apiece as four-time defending champion Colton rolled past Taholah 77-15 on Thursday to advance to the semifinals of the Class 1B girls state tournament.

Jackie Warner added 13 points and Payton Meyer and Kaitlin Druffel had 10 each for the Wildcats (23-1). The Chitwhins (8-2), who managed just six field goals and turned the ball over 30 times, will play in a loser-out game.

Vincent opened with back-to-back baskets for Colton, which led 23-0 after the first quarter.

Taholah finally managed its first points with 7:32 left in the second quarter on a basket by Rachel Cheney.
