United Grain has resumed operations at the Port of Vancouver, Wash., without locked-out longshoremen or replacement workers.

A company spokesman says there was enough management on hand at the grain terminal Thursday to start loading an export ship.

United Grain implemented the lockout Wednesday, saying it took the action because a union leader sabotaged company equipment.

The International Longshore & Warehouse Union responded that the company has not shown the evidence to support its allegation. The union wants to resume contract talks next week.

Longshormen spent Thursday picketing outside the port. There were no reports of trouble.
