Washington Attorney General Bob Ferguson says his job is to follow the will of the voters. And that's what he plans to do in response to a legal challenge to the voter-approved charter schools law.
A coalition of educators and community groups filed a three-page "legal demand" on Wednesday, questioning the constitutionality of Washington's new charter schools law.
The group is asking Ferguson to investigate seven constitutional issues.
The coalition - led by the Washington Education Association, the League of Women Voters and El Centro del la Raza - says if the attorney general doesn't take action, they will file a lawsuit in state courts.
