The Coast Guard says several crushed cars fell from a barge into Commencement Bay at Tacoma after the barge started listing.

There was an oil sheen on the water Sunday, even though fluids had been drained from the cars before they were crushed.

The Coast Guard says divers found a crack in the hull and made repairs to stabilize the 750-foot barge.

It was carrying crushed cars from Canada to the Schnitzer Steel recycling operation in Tacoma.
