Firefighter injured in Pend Oreille County fire
A firefighter was briefly trapped in the basement of a burning home early Thursday north of Spokane.

A firefighter was briefly trapped in the basement of a burning home early Thursday north of Spokane.
KHQ reports he was rescued and treated at a hospital for minor injuries.
The homeowner who had been remodeling was awakened by the crackling sound of the fire and escaped unharmed.
About 30 volunteer firefighters from the south Pend Oreille district responded.
