SPOKANE, Wash. —

Spokane Police Chief Frank Straub has closed a downtown night club after four people were shot during two incidents in the vicinity early Monday morning.

Straub says violence has become a regular occurrence at The Knitting Factory.

He told KHQ-TV (http://bit.ly/YtuUy3) he will give the club 20 days to appeal his decision.

Police are still investigating two Monday morning shootings in which four people were injured. They believe the incidents were probably gang related and have identified the people involved in the two shootings.

Authorities say none of the injuries are life-threatening.

Two people were shot at the Knitting Factory at First Avenue and Monroe Street just after 2 a.m. While responding to that call, police hear two more people had been shot nearby, at the intersection of Nora Avenue and Maple Avenue.
