TACOMA, Wash. —

Tacoma celebrates the 100th anniversary Friday of the historic Murray Morgan bridge, which connects downtown and the tideflats.

The bridge just reopened on Feb. 1 after a closure of nearly six years for repairs.

The bridge originally opened in 1913 and was renamed for Tacoma author, historian and one-time bridge tender Murray Morgan.
