An inmate who was inadvertently released Monday from the Clallam County Jail turned himself back in Wednesday.
Twenty-seven-year-old Matthew K. McDaniel had been arrested Sunday night and accused of assaulting a sheriff's deputy who found him sleeping in his car at a park in Sequim (skwim).
Chief Deputy Prosecutor Mark Nichols told the Peninsula Daily News the accidental release was the result of an unusual number of suspects arrested over the weekend and the prosecutor's office being short staffed.
The jail in Port Angeles also accidentally released an inmate in September due to a paperwork mix-up. He later turned himself in.
