CHENEY, Wash. —

Eastern Washington's football team was in the market for wide receivers and linebackers, and that's what coach Beau Baldwin landed.

Baldwin on Wednesday announced the signing of 17 high school players to letters of intent to play for the Eagles, perennial playoff contenders in the FCS.

The 17 players signed include seven all-state selections from Washington, as well as two from Oregon.

The Eagles signed a trio of wide receivers: Nic Sblendorio from Skyline High School in Sammamish, Wash.; Victor Gamboa from Washington High in Tacoma, Wash.; and Kendrick Bourne from Milwaukie Arts Academy in Portland, Ore.

At linebacker they signed Albert Havili from Federal Way (Wash.) High; Jake Gall from Cle Elum (Wash.) High; and John Kreifels from Downey High in Modesto, Calif.
