A no-trespassing sign at a Bellingham construction site warns thieves they could be shot.
The sign is across the street from Fairhaven Middle School and some students and parents have expressed concern about its reference to guns.
Police told The Bellingham Herald ( http://bit.ly/11LqoQN) the sign is legal.
Bellingham School District spokeswoman Tanya Rowe says the district has talked to the property owner about the sign but he says it's legal and on private property.
