KENNEWICK, Wash. —

A Kennewick nightclub bouncer was convicted of third-degree assault Thursday for a fight that left a bar patron with a brain injury.

Benton County Superior Court jurors convicted 41-year-old Matthew Thomas Hibbard for dropping Ben Ensign on his head on the sidewalk outside Jack Didley's bar on the Fourth of July.

The Tri-City Herald reports ( http://bit.ly/UJ7DJp) Hibbard faces one to three months in jail when he is sentenced Feb. 27.

The 32-year-old Ensign was dragged out of the nightclub after he was seen kicking over chairs, sneaking into a VIP lounge and drinking a stranger's drink. He suffered a fractured skull in the fall and is still in a Spokane rehabilitation center.
