PORTLAND, Ore. —

About 200 people gathered at the Portland Church of God Wednesday night for a memorial service for the man who was shot to death in Vancouver early Tuesday as a suspected prowler.

Nineteen-year-old Iosif Dumitrash was the youngest of 11 children.

Family members told The Oregonian ( http://bit.ly/12ccTJO) he was in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Vancouver resident Sean Doucette thought he was a car prowler and was holding him at gunpoint for police when shots were fired.

Doucette is facing a second-degree murder charge. Prosecutors say he shot Dumitrash as he was trying to walk away.

Doucette's lawyer says he was attacked and fired in self-defense.
