PASCO, Wash. —

A court hearing is scheduled Thursday for a possible plea change for a man accused of embezzling $1.8 million from Franklin County when he was accounting director for the Public Works Department.

Dennis Huston was arrested and fired last February. He's accused of charging the county for equipment it never received and putting the money in his own bank account to pay for cocaine and gambling.

Defense lawyer John Jensen told the Tri-City Herald ( http://bit.ly/11lxfM6) the case could be resolved before the trial scheduled in March in Franklin County Superior Court.
