WARRENTON, Ore. —

The U.S. Coast Guard has put out a warning to Dungeness crabbers in the Pacific Northwest: Get your rest and wear your life jackets.

The World in Coos Bay ( http://bit.ly/118pfhj) reports on the statement from Capt. Bruce Jones. Jones says fatigue is a leading cause of commercial fishing casualties, and it played a role in the grounding recently of vessels near Cape Arago (EHR-ah-goh) in Oregon and Willapa (WIL-uh-puh) Bay in Washington state.

He says a crew member without a life jacket fell overboard and disappeared Jan. 15 off the mouth of the Queets River on Washington's Olympic Peninsula.
