KENNEWICK, Wash. —

Benton County commissioners have chosen Kennewick Mayor Pro-Tem Sharon Brown to fill a state Senate seat representing the Tri-Cities.

She'll replace Sen. Jerome Delvin who was sworn in last month as a Benton County commissioner.

KVEW reports ( http://bit.ly/WcZPR9) state Reps. Larry Haler and Brad Klippert also were interviewed Monday for the appointment.

Brown says her priorities are to help small businesses and build relationships in Olympia to benefit the Tri-Cities. To keep the Senate seat she'll have to run in a special election in November.
