A burned-out vehicle backed into some trees in a rural area and a dead person outside the vehicle were discovered near Monroe on Saturday.

The Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office sent investigators to the 7300 block of Woods Creek Road about 3:30 p.m. Saturday after a citizen called 911 to report finding the body and the vehicle.

It was not known if the body was a man or a woman, or if the vehicle or body had any connection to the private property where they were found.
