VANCOUVER, Wash. —

A 48-year-old Vancouver man has been charged in Clark County Superior Court with plotting to kidnap his ex-wife and asking someone to buy him a shotgun.

The Columbian ( http://is.gd/Npakzq) reports court documents show witnesses say Stanley A. Gebarowski made statements that he wanted the shotgun to kill his ex-wife, Sherri L. Montgomery.

Gebarowski was charged Friday with criminal solicitation to commit kidnapping and second-degree unlawful possession of a firearm.

Judge Barbara Johnson has ordered Gebarowski held without bail, pending a mental health evaluation at Western State Hospital to determine his competency.
