Police in Marysville, Wash., have confirmed that an 82-year-old man found slain in his travel trailer was a registered sex offender.
Commander Robb Lamoureux (LAM-or-oh) said the man's home in a recreational vehicle park was ransacked and his pickup truck was missing. The officer said anyone driving the champagne-colored 2006 Chevrolet Colorado should be considered armed and dangerous.
Police did not immediately identify the man or discuss how he died or how long he had been dead. Lamoureux said late Friday he could not provide information on the sex offenses since that would provide identifying information.
The Snohomish County medical examiner's office said it might release the man's name by Monday.
Officers were dispatched about 3 a.m. Friday after a relative stopped by and found the man dead. Police determined the death was a homicide.
Marysville is 30 miles north of Seattle.
