SEATTLE —

Seattle police say two young robbers armed with guns have held up two groups of middle school children at a West Seattle park this week.

On Sunday evening, two young men with a shotgun approached four youngsters at Roxhill Park and demanded money and cell phones. Police say the robber with the shotgun hit two students in the head with the butt of the gun. The students were cut and bruised but not seriously hurt.

Police say that on Tuesday afternoon, two men with handguns and red bandannas over their faces robbed a group of five middle-school students in the park, again taking cash and cell phones.

The victims say the robbers appeared to be about 16 or 17 years old.

Seattle Public Schools says it will be sending information about the robberies to the homes of all students who attend school in the area.
