BOISE, Idaho —

Police say a 17-year-old Boise boy who went missing over the weekend has been found safe.

Boise police issued a news release just before noon Tuesday saying Hunter Young had been found. However, the agency said it would not release any more information because the boy is a juvenile.

Young's father told the Idaho Statesman that his son was arrested for shoplifting in Idaho Falls on Tuesday and was being held in a juvenile detention center.

David Young said his son had some unresolved personal issues that may have led him to run away.

Young's family reported him missing Saturday after he failed to show up for a hunting trip in Emmett. His cellphone was found in Connell, Wash., on Saturday afternoon.
