CityU of Seattle opening in South Lake Union

City University of Seattle is holding an opening ceremony Friday at a building in South Lake Union where it eventually hopes to serve about 3,500 students.

SEATTLE —

City University of Seattle is holding an opening ceremony Friday at a building in South Lake Union where it eventually hopes to serve about 3,500 students.

The building has 18 classrooms and 21 interactive conference rooms where students can communicate by video with any of CityU's 33 campuses in 11 campuses.

The Seattle Daily Journal of Commerce reports ( http://bit.ly/10EWiy5) CityU joins a new campus of Northeastern University in the area near the Amazon.com headquarters and biotech companies.

Northeastern University started classes Jan. 7 and eventually expects to serve 1,000 students in Seattle.
