BREMERTON, Wash. —

A gray was found dead over the weekend near the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard in Bremerton.

State Department of Fish and Wildlife marine mammal specialist Steve Jeffries says it appears to a juvenile female about 30 feet long. He says it was emaciated and likely died of starvation.

The Kitsap Sun reports ( http://bit.ly/13Wgg72) the whale is believed to be the same one that was seen last week in Tacoma.

A few gray whales die each year in Washington waters. Jeffries says the whale will be towed into deep water in Puget Sound and sunk.
