The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife says someone has shot and killed at least three bald eagles in Snohomish County.
KIRO-TV reports that the bodies of four eagles were found floating last week in a small lake near Granite Falls. Investigators say three had been shot with a small-caliber rifle. It wasn't clear how the fourth eagle died.
The birds are protected under both state and federal law.
A reward of nearly $4,000 is being offered for information in the case.
