Cowlitz County Commissioner Jim Misner says he has a serious job by day at the county administration building, but by night he indulges his passion for art by creating weird sculptures.
He calls them Farflehoogins.
Some are on his office wall and more are on display this month at the Broadway Gallery in Longview.
The Daily News reports ( http://bit.ly/VLLIPI) many of the sculptures resemble bright tropical fish - with horns. Each one includes an antler or other animal bone.
Misner sculpts in clay to create molds that he fills with plastic resins. He says the techniques come from his experience in construction.
