RICHLAND, Wash. —

The Pacific Northwest National Laboratory at Richland and the University of Washington are forming the Northwest Institute for Advanced Computing, which will be based at the Seattle campus.

The institute combines the talents of scientists to work on high performance computing to handle vast quantities of data for research in health, cyber security, computer modeling and information technology.

The Tri-City Herald reports (http://bit.ly/RHLVp2) by working together the PNNL and UW will be in a stronger position to win research grants.
