The Highline School District is reviewing security for the schools in the Burien area, but a spokeswoman says there's been no proposal yet to disarm guards and declare a "gun free zone."

Spokeswoman Catherine Carbone (car-BOHN'-ee) Rogers says a staff review to consider changes began last spring before Susan Enfield became superintendent. She has not said publicly what she prefers.

Some people at a recent school board meeting asked the board to keep armed guards.

KOMO-TV reports ( http://is.gd/GSt4cb) the teachers' union also says it opposes disarming guards.

The school board meets Wednesday, but guns aren't on the agenda.

The Highline District has more than 18,000 students in schools at Burien, Des Moines and SeaTac.
