MOUNT VERNON, Wash. —

Police in Mount Vernon, Wash., say a 32-year-old technician died in a fall from a cellular tower.

Police Chief Jerry Dodd said the man worked for a consulting and construction company in Sammamish, Wash., east of Seattle. He was not immediately identified.

Firefighters and medics responded after the man fell Friday from the tower at a Mount Vernon fire station. He was pronounced dead at Skagit Valley Hospital.

Dodd says the cell tower is on city property that is leased to commercial cellular providers.

The Skagit County coroner, state Department of Labor and Industries and Mount Vernon police are investigating.
