SPOKANE, Wash. —

Starting next week some Spokane fire stations will dispatch smaller vehicles instead of large ladder trucks on medical calls.

Chief Bobby Williams tells KHQ ( http://nbcnews.to/W8SjCH) nearly 80 percent of the calls at some stations are medical-related and citizens question using expensive trucks.

He says trucks can be dispatched if needed.
