WENATCHEE, Wash. —

Hundreds of people in the Lake Wenatchee area have been without power since Monday because of winds, heavy snow and falling trees.

KPQ reports ( http://www.kpq.com) the public utility district had trimmed 3,200 outages down to 1,700 but that went back up to 2,000 on Thursday as more trees continued to fall.

The Red Cross has opened a shelter at Icicle Middle School in Leavenworth.
