FORKS, Wash. —

A team of tsunami debris experts is making another attempt Friday to reach a dock that washed ashore on a remote beach on the Washington coast.

The site on the Olympic Peninsula near Forks is about five miles from the nearest road. A swollen stream Thursday blocked a team from the state Marine Debris Task Force.

They hope to confirm whether the dock was torn away from Japanese waters by the March 2011 tsunami. They also want to clean off any potential invasive species of seaweed and marine life.

The dock appears similar to one that washed ashore last June at Newport, Ore. It was confirmed as tsunami debris.
