Members of the Electoral College in Washington have cast their official votes for President Barack Obama.
The state's 12 Democratic electors met Monday in Olympia to complete the constitutional formality. In last month's election, Obama defeated Republican candidate Mitt Romney in both Washington state and nationally.
Eighty-three-year-old Gail Kirk of Tacoma arrived at the ceremony with a t-shirt promoting Obama and buttons representing other Democrats. She says the voting made her feel as if she had a hand in helping the country move in the right direction.
Congress will officially tally the state votes on Jan. 6, with Obama to be sworn in a couple of weeks later.
