A 76-year-old Lewiston man is raising questions about the killer of his parents, a double-slaying that's bedeviled police and the community since it happened more than a half-century ago.

The Lewiston Tribune ( http://tinyurl.com/codugq4) reports that 76-year-old Peter Madison moved back to Lewiston two years ago.

Since then, Madison has been looking into stories he's heard about the deaths of his father and mother, Roy and Loretta Madison, on Sept. 23, 1961.

Nobody was ever arrested in the slayings in which both died of a single gunshot from a .22 caliber weapon in the second-floor bedroom of their home on Lewiston's Normal Hill.

Peter Madison is now writing a family history - including the story of his parents' death and the failure of police so far to find the person responsible.
