For a 5-year-old Billings girl, the generosity of a complete stranger half a world away is reason to give thanks this Thanksgiving.

This next week, they'll be getting together, to advocate for people to register their bone marrow to help others who are critically ill.

The Billings Gazette ( http://tinyurl.com/aqx4nm8) reports Jada Bascom is alive today because of a bone marrow transplant from 37-year-old German Torsten Huber.

Bascom has spent half her life in the hospital with leukemia.

Finding a marrow match wasn't easy.

From the United States, her search was widened to include donors from Europe.

Eventually, doctors found Huber, a social worker from southern Germany.

Together, Bascom and Huber will be in Billings starting Monday to kick off a "Be The Match" drive in Montana, Idaho and Washington state.
