Police in Auburn, Wash., say one young man was fatally shot and another suffered serious gunshot wounds at an apartment complex Monday night.

Police spokesman Mike Hirman says a woman in her early 30s had knife wounds to her hands.

The man who died was described as about 25 years old.

The woman and the wounded man, also about 25, were taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.

Hirman says police responded to the Colonial Village Apartments after getting a call about a fight and gunshots.

The police investigation continues.
